About Us

We are a team of local Lifeboat enthusiasts, that in 2018 have taken on the task of restoring the Samuel Fletcher of Manchester ON393 former Blackpool Lifeboat back to its former glory.

The boat has been in storage for a number of years and requires extensive restoration.

If you would like to assist there are numerous ways you can help.

There are many different tasks which, if you would like to join in, include…

  • History
  • Media
  • Paint Stripping
  • Woodworking
  • Coach Painting
  • Metalworking
  • Engine Rebuilding (yes a Lister engine was installed in the 1930s)
  • Funding and Legacies

If you have any information or history on the boat, Blackpool RNLI or local Lifeboats we would also be delighted to hear from you.

We also look after the Lytham Lifeboat Museum in the Old Lifeboat House next to Lytham Windmill, which was reopened to the public in 2015.

We are custodians of the 1900 Liverpool Class Pulling and Sailing Lifeboat Chapman ON461 that was based at Hilbre Island near Hoylake.
